| A few years ago, Doug and Lorraine Rough were losing money in the stock market before it was a trendy thing to do.
So, they took the remainder of the money they were saving for their kids’ college fund and invested it in a little secluded
cabin on the Washington state coast as an experiment. This little experiment has been a lot of work.
It has been a learning experience for us and we have had some stumbles. But by and large, most folks have enjoyed their stay
and we have had many happy returns. The view is stunning! Although the value of the property has increased, we have borrowed against the equity for improvements, the new duplex, etc. We are really not trying to make money so much as we are trying to protect our children’s college fund and maybe have a place for our family to gather in the future—maybe your family, too. We hope you enjoy your stay. If you have any problems, please don’t hesitate to tell us, so we can try and remedy them as soon as possible. If you buy something you think we should have at the property and leave it behind, we will reimburse you up to $50 if you photograph it and send us the receipt. We'll also reimbuse you for minor repairs, up to the amount we would have paid to get it done (or, of course, you can call us and we'll send out our maintenance guy). |
